In the years ahead, the economy here and abroad will grow slowly to a US consumer saving spree and five other major forces. Chronic deflation is likely. This presents a much different investment climate than in the high growth days of the 1980s and 1990s, but there will be money to be made in Treasury bonds, high dividend paying stocks, productivity enhancing hardware and software, and manufactured housing and rental apartments. Forget commodities, commercial real estate, big ticket consumer products, debt-laden companies, and conventional home builders.
