Bruce Johnstone has been with Fidelity Investments for 41 years and is presently a managing director and senior marketing investment strategist. In these roles, he is responsible for educating retail and institutional audiences and helping the company's clients adjust their portfolios. Mr. Johnstone also serves as trustee and chairman of the Fidelity International Limited (FIL) advised Thailand International Fund. During his 41-plus-year tenure with the company, he has held many key positions, including vice president and portfolio manager of the Fidelity Equity-Income Fund for 19 years, chief investment officer and managing director of Fidelity International Ltd., in London, executive vice president and chairman of the investment committee for Fidelity Management & Research Co., and group leader of the income/growth group of funds. Early on in his career with Fidelity, Mr. Johnstone was assistant portfolio manager of the Salem Fund, the Fidelity Fund which was the precursor of the Fidelity Equity-Income Fund. He joined Fidelity Investments as a transportation analyst in 1966. Mr. Johnstone is a founding board member of the Needham Education Foundation, chairman of the Harvard Business School Fund, cabinet member of the Alexis de Tocqueville Society of the United Way, and is on the executive council for the Inner City Schools Scholarship Fund. He is a CFA charter holder. Mr. Johnstone was in the US Navy where he earned the commission of Lieutenant while he earned a Bachelor's degree from Harvard and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
