Margaret Patel is a managing director and senior portfolio manager with Evergreen's Fundamental Equity Group. Her responsibilities include managing the Evergreen Diversified Income Builder Fund and the Evergreen Diversified Capital Builder Fund. Ms. Patel joined Evergreen in 2007 and has more than 30 years' experience managing various fixed-income and equity funds. Previously, she served as a senior vice president and portfolio manager with Pioneer Investments. While working at Pioneer, Ms. Patel was nominated twice for Morningstar's "Fixed Income Manager of the Year" and was the only high-yield manager among the nominees. She was featured among the nation's top 20 mutual fund managers in Market Masters. Ms. Patel was also featured in The Mutual Fund Masters by CNBC host Bill Griffeth. Ms. Patel has been quoted regularly in publications such as Wall Street Journal, Barron's, Money, BusinessWeek, Boston Globe, Chicago Tribune and MSN Money. She is also a frequent guest on both CNBC-TV and Bloomberg Business News television. She is a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts. Ms. Patel received a BS in economics from the University of Pittsburgh.
