Thirty years of producing investment conferences have taken us around the world. We’ve learned from the crème de la crème of investment experts in Chicago, London, Las Vegas, and many other venues; and next year we’re thrilled to launch The World Money Show Hong Kong. But there’s always been one city that kept us coming back, San Francisco. We’re both proud and excited to return to the City by the Bay, where we produced our first-ever conference in 1978.
In times like these, it’s good to have this forum to discuss with and hear from the best financial and geopolitical minds in the world. At our very first conference here in San Francisco in 1978 for instance, we were honored to host the late President Gerald R. Ford, former Secretary of the Treasury William Simon, and former editor of National Review William F. Buckley, Jr. as featured speakers. And just last August, in San Francisco, luminaries such as Steve Forbes, Ken Fisher, and Robert Froehlich helped us all invest smarter.
The 2009 show will ride the momentum of a wildly successful 2008 San Francisco Money Show where 6,300 investors gathered to help us celebrate our 30th anniversary and advance their own investment education and tools by attending 150 plus workshops and panels and exploring the expansive exhibit hall. There was something for everyone and we were proud to once again bring such an event to San Francisco, where it all started for us.
Our commitment to investor education continues with the successful re-launch of MoneyShow.com in July 2008. This endeavor, though demanding, has been a rewarding one, as we redesigned, added new features and content, and our loyal membership has grown.
