Preparing for the Next
Commodities Boom
4.30 p.m. - 5.30 p.m
Commodity prices have been on
a steady upward trend for the
last six years, bolstered by
strong demand from China,
India, and other emerging
market economies. Energy,
metals, and agriculturals all
climbed steadily, seemingly
without the top in sight.
But in recent months, amid fears of slowing worldwide growth
and weaker demand for raw materials, commodity prices have
been tumbling. Gold fell below $900 an ounce for the first time
since June, while crude oil dropped below $115 a barrel, amid
signs of worldwide slowdowns. A gauge of 117 energy
producers in The MSCI World Index dropped 21% from its
record high in May 2008 and the World Bank is forecasting
that global growth will slow to 2.7% this year, from 3.7%
last year.
Is now the right time to invest in commodities or has a
speculative bubble formed—and burst? Have you already
missed your chance for big profits or is this just a temporary
pause in preparation for the next leg up? Will commodity
prices continue to be highly volatile through the remainder of
this year and into 2009?
Join panel chair, Howard Gold, executive editor,
MoneyShow.com, and these commodities experts as they
provide their unbiased perspectives. Find out which firms and
sectors have already peaked, and uncover those companies
that are still undervalued, but ready to take off.

How You Can Easily Manage Your
SIPP and Beat the Professional
Money Managers
Saturday, 15 November
9.30 a.m. - 10.30 a.m.
 |
Alex
Green |
With a SIPP (Self Invested Personal
Pension) you're in control of how, where,
and when to invest. But how many
people actually follow a sensible
investment strategy; one that is simple,
robust and logical? And what about
costs? Whether you realise it or not, the
cost of doing business is probably the
single most dominant factor in a
pension's long-term performance. The great thing about costs
is that unlike performance, they can be controlled. This seminar
looks at some ideas and strategies for running and operating a
successful SIPP even if you have little investment experience.

Stocks to Beat the Bear Market
Saturday, 15 November
2.15 p.m. - 3.15 p.m.
Every investor dreams of discovering the stocks that will
outperform the bear market, then seeing their valuations soar
as the rest of the market cottons on. The broad market has
historically returned about 10% a year over long periods, but
these super-stocks should be capable of
returning 15% to 25% for a while. What
do such companies look like? What's the
best way to find them?
Join veteran growth-stock investor
Nigel Milton and this panel of experts and learn their best techniques for sifting
through thousands of shares to screen
out the over-priced, over-hyped duds to
find the fastest growing stocks of the future. They will also
share their favorite plays for today's bear market.

Learn What Every Investor
Should Know about
Trading CFDs
Saturday, 15 November
3.30 p.m. - 4.15 p.m.
CFDs, developed in London in the early 90s, were used primarily by hedge funds
and institutional investors as a way to
hedge their exposure to stocks. Today, private investors are
increasingly using CFDs to trade shares and indexes around
the globe. Attractive because, unlike futures contracts, CFDs
have no fixed expiration date or contract size, they are exempt
from stamp duty in the UK, and they allow investors to trade
on leverage. In this lively panel presentation, representatives
of several of the UK's leading CFD trading firms will discuss
the benefits of using CFDs over futures or spread betting, and
how private investors can incorporate CFDs into their trading
and investing plan as a way to hedge investments and benefit from price movements without owning the underlying security.

Asset Allocation for Maximum
Portfolio Growth
Friday, 14 November
4.30 p.m. - 5.30 p.m.
Asset allocation is one of the most
fundamental principles of sound
investing, yet many investors have
trouble harnessing its power. In a
world where commodities, hedge
funds, private equity, real estate,
and other alternative investments
dominate the headlines, portfolios
ranging from 50% to 70% equities, 15% to 30% fixed-income
securities, and 15% to 20% cash appear to be anachronisms.
In this session, you will learn from the experts as they discuss
current trends, the wide variety of asset classes and sector
selections available, and demonstrate how you can achieve
higher returns with lower risk by finding the right mix of assets
to hold in your portfolio, based on your tolerance for risk and
time horizon. Attend this panel and learn how to buy the right
investments at the right time in the right markets!

Prospecting in the
Natural
Resources Sector
Saturday, 15 November
11.15 a.m. - 12.00 p.m.
Turmoil in the Middle East and advances
in technology are just a few of the many
forces reshaping how we think about
using the resources on our planet. In this
millennium alone, newer sources for
energy like switch grass and corn are all
the craze. Will the tightening of natural
resource supplies around the world
continue to drive prices higher for grains,
oil, metals, and other natural resources?
What are the latest developments and how do we profit from
the ever evolving natural resources arena? Like the Web
boom of a few years ago, there are global giants and fledgling
resource companies, but which will thrive and which will wither
in an intensely competitive global economy? Join this panel of
experts from companies in the metals, petroleum, and
mining sectors as they discuss their companies' prospects
for growth and their vision.
BRICs: Is the Party Over?
Saturday, 15 November
2.15 p.m. - 3.15 p.m.
Few financial concepts have
caught on as quickly as“BRICs,” which stands for Brazil, Russia, India, and China, the “Big Four” fastgrowth
economies in the world
today. Goldman Sachs has predicted that China's economy
will surpass Germany in the next few years, Japan by 2015,
and the US by 2041. India's growth rate will be the highest—not China's—and it will overtake Japan (today the world's
second largest economy) by 2032. BRICs' currencies could
appreciate by 300% over the next 50 years, providing a big
tailwind for investors in BRIC assets. Taken together, the
BRICs could be larger than the US and the developed
economies of Europe within 40 years.
This panel will share their outlooks on these countries'
economies and prospects for continued growth.
They will not only reveal where the opportunities are, but they
will also show you where the pitfalls lie, so you don't get
caught in the same trap into which unwary emerging markets'
investors have fallen in the past.
