TRADER SENTIMENT MIXED FOR THE REMAINDER OF 2009
MoneyShow.com indicator reveals 47% of Active Traders are Bullish, 40% Bearish, 13% Neutral

SARASOTA, FL, June 4, 2009 MoneyShow.com, the largest multimedia investment education destination for investors, traders, and financial advisors announced the results of the Traders’ Sentiment Indicator today on it’s Web site. The results revealed that 47% of active traders are bullish, 40% are bearish, and 13% have a neutral outlook about the S&P 500 between now and the end of the year.

In line with these predictions, 17% of respondents reported that they will not make any short sales and another 34% indicated they anticipate that less than 10% of their trades will be short sales for the remainder of 2009.  Additionally, 73% of traders expect to see no change in interest rates through the end of the year.

Stocks and options emerged as the trading vehicle of choice, with more than 49% of traders expecting those trades to be the most profitable for the duration of the year. Traders also predicted the U.S. dollar will fall moderately to significantly in relation to other currencies according to an overwhelming 64% of respondents.

The MoneyShow.com Traders’ Sentiment Indicator polled active traders from its subscriber list between May 25 and May 29.

“Traders continue to remain divided on even the short-term direction of the markets. With so much uncertainty in the markets, and the continuation of challenging times for corporate America, active traders seem to be shortening their timeframes and seeking out more education,” said Tim Bourquin, MoneyShow.com Trading Channel editor.

The complete findings of the Traders’ Sentiment Indicator are now available on MoneyShow.com. The site will commission several other indicators throughout the year among investors and traders, which will be announced in conjunction with its various trade shows.
