MONEYSHOW.COM SENTIMENT INDICATOR REVEALS INVESTORS ARE MORE PESSIMISTIC ON U.S. MARKETS & ECONOMY

SARASOTA, Fla., Wed., February 4, 2009 – MoneyShow.com, the largest multimedia investment education destination for investors and traders, will announce today the results of the Investors’ Sentiment Indicator at The World Money Show in Orlando, Florida.

Investors’ confidence in U.S. markets and the economy is slipping, with 47% of investors polled expressing bullish sentiments about the markets, compared with 51% in November 2008. The number of bearish investors has also increased to 34% from 29% since the last Sentiment Indicator poll in November.

Investors’ favorite asset class for 2009 is commodities. Some 39% of those polled say commodities will perform best this year, near the May 2008 high of 42%. They also like small U.S. stocks (19%) and large U.S. stocks (15%). Corporate bonds are also drawing more attention, with 10% of respondents favoring them for 2009.

Inflation is still a concern of investors--42% expect it to rise this year—while more than three-quarters of those polled don’t see the end of the U.S. recession until 2010 or later. An overwhelming majority—86%--thinks the Federal Reserve will keep short-term interest rates at current levels.

The poll also asked investors whether they have changed the way they manage their own money after the market turmoil and other events of 2008. Of the respondents, 50% plan on taking more control of their investing, 44% will keep things as they are, and only 6% will either reduce the number of advisers they use or divide their assets among more advisers.

The MoneyShow.com Investors’ Sentiment Indicator polled 670 investors from its member list between January 27 and February 2, 2009. The complete findings of the Investors’ Sentiment Indicator will be available on MoneyShow.com. The site will commission several other indicators throughout the year among individual investors and traders that will be announced in conjunction with its trade shows and made available on MoneyShow.com.
