VIX Turns Higher

Midway through the trading the day, the VIX futures have risen rather sharply, but are still below a steep downtrend and the strong resistance in the 30 area. Though the VIX may starting to bottom, the pattern suggests that this will take a week or two. The action is much different than what was seen last September.
