      Thomas Drolet is president of Drolet and Associates Energy Services, Inc. He has worked for 43 years in virtually all aspects of the energy business, from major electrical utilities as president and CEO of the international part of one of North America’s largest utilities, to president and CEO of a geothermal company that has done projects in five countries. Mr. Drolet has worked in nuclear, coal, hydroelectric, natural gas, solar, wind, and biomass facilities. More recently, he has worked as a consultant in may new developing technology and resource energy fields, in uranium supply arenas, and has consulted on the recent Fukushima Dai-ichi accident. Mr. Drolet has been on several boards and advisory committees to energy companies in the natural gas, oil, and renewables areas. He has spoken to major conferences in over 20 countries in excess of 175 times over the course of his career. Throughout history, new energy supply systems have replaced old ones basically through technical innovation via major discoveries. The investment in the world's energy supply systems today is in the order of $30+ trillion US. The world economies cannot afford to throw out these, as yet, still incompletely depreciated energy supply systems for much more expensive, and as yet unproven, and ill-integrated energy systems. Major changes in energy supply and use should be evolutionary... not revolutionary, in nature. Will our police leaders do those things that let us evolve, or will they throw the "babies out with the, still clean, bath water"?
