Van Hoisington

President & Senior Investment Officer, Hoisington Investment Management Company

Global diversification was the theme at this year’s Las Vegas Financial Advisors Symposium. Crowds of advisors attended workshops and panel discussions that focused on specific recommendations for how to expand their clients’ portfolios globally, as well as advice for growing their practices. Here is just a small sample of the offerings:

Van Hoisington, president, Hoisington Investment Management Company, opened the conference and gave attendees a realistic assessment of today’s economy and market, while John Rutledge, chairman, Rutledge Capital, closed the symposium with an upbeat forecast for the future.

The exhibit hall offered advisors the opportunity to meet and greet their favorite experts as well as sample the latest technology to improve their practices.

The workshops and panel discussions provided a wide range of choices for advisors looking for forecasts, strategies, and recommendations in specific markets around the world, as well as practical advice for managing and growing their client portfolios and their practices. Advisors seeking recommendations also found a sampling of funds, ETFs, and individual investments in emerging markets such as Asia and Latin America, and more developed regions like Europe, the US, and Canada.

Our studio was a hive of activity with non-stop interviews in which we asked our experts for advice and strategies that covered the most basic portfolio advice to more macro-related issues on global diversification. Here, in Best of Show, we are highlighting a few of those interviews, including those with Jim Farris, founder & CEO, Money Strategies, Richard Kang, independent risk and investment management consultant, and Komal Sri-Kumar, managing director & portfolio manager, Greenwich Advisors.

We hope you enjoy this brief look into the symposium and look forward to seeing you at the next conference!
