Coolcat Points to Point.360
09/12/2003 12:00 am EST
The Coolcat Explosive Small Cap Growth Stock Report is one of the top performing newsletters. According to The Hulbert Financial Digest, the Coolcat model portfolios have risen on average at a 43.8% annualized rate since the end of 1998. Here’s the latest pick of the week from editor Kevin Kennedy.
Each week, Kevin Kennedy selects a Pick of the Week-- a top trading suggestion among all the stocks that survive his proprietary screens. In addition, Kennedy also conducts a weekly filter which identifies what he calls Super Seven Stocks. One stock has just landed in both positions, as The Coolcat Report's latest top pick of the week and as the latest stock to qualify as a Super Seven. Says Kennedy,
"Point.360 (PTSX NASDAQ) is a provider of video and film asset management services to owners, producers, and distributors of entertainment and advertising content. To achieve its ranking as a Super Seven stock, the issue has met all of the follow criteria:
1 - Relative strength of 97 or higher or high-low ratio of 4 to 1 or better.
2 - Price less than 20 or more than 50.
3 - Float 10 million shares or less.
4 - New listing on one of my screens since the last buy signal.
5 - New high in the previous two weeks.
6 - A 3x previous day volume and up in price day in past two weeks.
7 - A breakout out of a base of 4 weeks or longer in the past two weeks.
"Point.360 provides the services necessary to edit, master, reformat, archive, and ultimately distribute its clients' film and video content, including television programming, spot advertising, feature films, and movie trailers. The company delivers commercials, movie trailers, electronic press kits, infomercials, and syndicated programming, by both physical and electronic means, to hundreds of broadcast outlets worldwide. Clients include major motion picture studios such as Universal, Disney, Fox, Sony Pictures, Paramount, MGM, and Warner Bros. and advertising agencies TBWA Chiat/Day, Saatchi & Saatchi and Young & Rubicam. From a technical standpoint, we would note that the stock has risen from a low of just $0.83 a share to a recent high of $3.94."
