Among the participants in this year's Top Picks report, this one is unique, in that it comes from an investment duo-Sherri Parker and Nancy Zambell, who as a team, pick stocks for the extraordinarily popular and successful UnDiscovered Stocks. Here's their favorite for 2004.

"InterDigital Communications (IDCC NASDAQ), a wireless pioneer and leader in 3G technology, was the first company-worldwide- to demonstrate the use of digital wireless technology in a commercial wireless product for mobile applications. As a result, it was tapped to help set the standards for establishing wireless communications for 2G, 2.5G, and 3G applications.

"The company's advanced products are embedded in a wide range of 2G and 3G devices (cell phones, PDAs, notebook computers, for example) manufactured by the leading global wireless equipment makers. Today, some 70% of all 2G and 2.5G GSM/TDMA-based mobile phones are covered by IDC's licensing agreements. With the industry poised to recover and forecast to almost double in the next 5 years, IDC is in the catbird seat. Strong cash position, no debt, phenomenally growing revenues and earnings, we recommend shares of IDC up to $23.50 per share with a 12-24 month target of $32."
