The Weekly Whisper from the Dark Pool: XOP, XLF, T
07/20/2017 2:59 am EST
Stefanie Kammerman, the Stock Whisperer, here to tell you the Whisper of the Week from the Dark Pool for July 19: XOP, XLF and T. And, a recap of past Whisper performance of X, USO, XLF, in my weekly Thursday video and transcript.
Before we get to this week’s Whisper, we have to talk about last week’s Whisper. Last week I did not do one because I was on a special cruise to Alaska, which was spectacular.
Weeks before, actually in June, I told you to watch United States Steel (X). Bullish on a close above $22.50. Well, guess what happened while I was away to Alaska? She snuck up there. It’s a good thing I bought some calls before I went away. And you can see this thing is finally making a move. It just broke above this trend line of resistance and I love it. There’s actually a lot more room to go $25-$26 level is my next target for X.
Also, we were watching USO, a 9 million print at $9.53, bearish at $9.53, bullish only above $9.60. You see where United States Oil Fund ETF (USO) came all the way back down to $9. Right now, we are above that print. I’ll get you an oil trade in just a little bit.
Also, Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF), we got this massive sell print for $25.16 and we were only bullish above $25.20 and you can see she never went above that. Instead, came all the way down.
So, what are we watching this week? Well, going back to oil, we spotted big prints today (July 19) on SPDR S&P Oil & Gas Exploration and Production ETF (XOP). The prints today were $32.13 to $32.22. I was bullish above $32.25. If you get my Dark Pool app, I was tweeting like a maniac today. Here’s the tweet: Bullish above $32.25, bearish below $32. And this thing took off. This is a great swing trade that I am in right now. However, hitting resistance on the 50 Simple Moving Average on the Daily Chart. Check out the weekly chart. Amazing, if she can break above this 50 average tomorrow (July 20). Then it will have a lot of room to run to go to $34, a simple 20 on the weekly chart. We definitely want to take profit there.
Also, today, we spotted a big million and a half print on AT&T (T) showing you on my software, one and a half million at $36.0825 at 1 o’clock in the afternoon when you want to see those big prints. Of course, I did tweet about this in my Dark Pool app as well, where I was bullish above $36.20, bearish only below $36. Tomorrow, if she stays above $36.20, love it. However, if it closes below $36, I’m going to turn bearish on this one again.
We also spotted more Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) prints today. Prints of 2 million at $24.77 and 3 million at $24.88. We closed in between the prints. This is so important to watch tomorrow (July 20). If we close above $24.88, I’ll turn bullish. However, if it closes below $24.77, I’ll turn bearish on the financials.
