Principal and Founder
Artvest Partners LLC
Jeff Rabin is principal and co-founder of Artvest Partners, a firm that offers investment advice for the art market, including custom strategies acquiring and selling, financing, protecting art wealth and passing it on to future generations. Prior to co-founding Artvest Partners LLC, Mr. Rabin was vice president of financial services at Christie's, where he was jointly responsible for the structuring and development of an opportunistic art fund. The fund, designed as a private equity offering, was first to be developed by a major auction house in partnership with a leading investment bank. He began his career as an investment banking analyst at Bear, Stearns & Co., Inc., in the Financial Institutions Group and then spent most of his career in the investment management business. At Barclays Global Investors (BGI), now part of BlackRock, Inc., Mr. Rabin ran global trading for the then USD 400 billion asset manager. In 1997, he left BGI to join the hedge fund side of the industry, which ultimately led to the creation of his own firm, Rebus Capital LLC. He has extensive knowledge and experience in securities markets. He has been both manager and head of trading for buy-side equity/equity derivative firms and has been responsible for worldwide trading strategy and execution across 42 markets and futures exchanges. In addition, Mr. Rabin was the driving force behind the development of systems, practices, and procedures to support and enhance these businesses. He is a founder and director of the Art Investment Council, a non-profit organization that promotes a greater understanding of art as an asset class by encouraging transparency, best practices, education, and consistency of terminology and reporting. Mr. Rabin is an avid collector of fine wine with an Advanced Certificate with merit from the Wine & Spirits Education Trust. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a BA in economics.
