SPEAKER Plummer, Mark Mark Plummer is chairman and owner of Chestnut Exploration, Inc. He spent 13 years with Sun Oil Company holding multiple engineering positions in the Arkansas-Louisiana-Texas area and the Gulf of Mexico. In 1994, Mr. Plummer founded Chestnut Exploration and Production, an independent oil and natural gas company with operations in the Southwestern United States. He is a registered professional engineer with the state of Texas, and FINRA-registered securities principal. Mr. Plummer holds degrees in biology and biochemistry from the University of Texas-Pan American and in chemical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.

SPEAKER Finn, Ed Ed Finn is the editor and president of Barron's, the Dow Jones business and financial weekly. He joined Dow Jones as a national copyreader for The Wall Street Journal in 1980, then moved to the foreign desk as editor, then to the Dallas bureau as a banking and finance reporter. Mr. Finn left to join Forbes as a senior editor, covering international business and finance, and later became an assistant managing editor. From 1990 to 1992, he was the editor of American Banker, a daily trade newspaper. Mr. Finn re-joined Dow Jones in 1993 as the managing editor of Barron's and was named editor of the magazine in 1995. He assumed additional responsibilities as the president of Barron's in 1998. Mr. Finn earned a Bachelor's degree in English and political science from Tufts University and a Master's degree in international banking and finance from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs.

SPEAKER Kahn, Michael Michael Kahn has been working with charts and technical analysis since 1986 and currently writes the weekly "Getting Technical" column for Barron's Online. He also publishes a daily newsletter, Quick Takes Pro (, covering all markets but with a focus on the equities market. Mr. Kahn was formerly chief technical analyst for BridgeNews and a regular on such financial programs as Nightly Business Report, Yahoo! Finance Vision, and WebFN. He has written three books on technical analysis, most recently The Beginners Guide to Charting Financial Markets, and his books are published in five languages.

SPEAKER Ahern, Michael Michael Ahern is vice president of operations for Barron's, where he is responsible for coordinating business efforts for the news, advertising, and circulation departments. Prior to moving to Barron's in 1999, Mr. Ahern was director of circulation and planning and customer service for Dow Jones print publications. He has over 19 years' experience in the circulation department at the Wall Street Journal and Barron's. Mr. Ahern has an MBA from the University of Hartford and a BS in mathematics from Western New England College.

SPEAKER Holmes, Frank Frank Holmes is chief executive officer and chief investment officer of U.S. Global Investors, Inc. He purchased a controlling interest in U.S. Global Investors in 1989 and became the firm's chief investment officer in 1999. Under Mr. Holmes' guidance, the company's funds have received numerous awards and honors, including more than two-dozen Lipper Fund Awards and certificates. In 2006, he was selected mining fund manager of the year by the Mining Journal. Mr. Holmes is also the co-author of The Goldwatcher: Demystifying Gold Investing. He is engaged in a number of international philanthropies and is a member of the President's Circle and on the investment committee of the International Crisis Group, which works to resolve conflict around the world. Mr. Holmes is also an advisor to the William J. Clinton Foundation on sustainable development in countries with resource-based economies. He is a much sought after keynote speaker at national and international investment conferences. Mr. Holmes is also a regular commentator on the financial television networks CNBC, Bloomberg, and Fox Business, and has been profiled by Fortune, Barron's, the Financial Times, and other publications. He is a native of Toronto and is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor's degree in economics. Mr. Holmes is a former president and chairman of the Toronto Society of the Investment Dealers Association.
