The Abitibi Gold Belt deposits transecting Ontario and Quebec have produced more than 200 million ounces of gold. Now imagine if you could buy a ticket on the potential to discover the next Abitibi — virtually the entire belt — in the mining-friendly jurisdiction of Wyoming. That’s exactly the potential that Relevant Gold Corp. (RGCCF) is offering investors, says Brien Lundin, executive editor of Gold Newsletter.
The company controls five district-scale properties along the Wyoming Province, a geological structure that broke off from the Superior Province that hosts the Abitibi some 2.1 billion years ago. As a result, the Wyoming Province hosts many of the same ancient rocks that hosted orogenic gold mineralization when that mineralization developed in the Abitibi about 2.65 billion years ago.
The Relevant team has secured ground along the Oregon Trail Structural Belt (OTSB) that runs through Wyoming. It hosts the same-age rocks as the belts in the Superior Province like the Destor-Porcupine, the Cadillac, and Larder Lake Belts. This craton-scale structural zone is home to historic gold mines and cross-cutting rock types known to host both orogenic and VMS style mineralization.
Within its extensive holdings on this structural belt, Relevant has completed its first-ever drilling at the Apex target on its Bradley Peak gold project, totaling 5,102 meters in 12 holes. Apex is a shear structure traced for more than 2.5 kilometers in strike and located within a 100-square-kilometer fold-hinge structure. 2024 sampling at Apex yielded rocks grading as high as 46.8 g/t gold, 7.8% copper, and 2% zinc.
The area hosts shallow, historic workings. But it has never been drill-tested and good results from this program could light a fire under Relevant Gold’s share price. Those may be coming soon, as drilling confirmed the presence of a 70 meter-150-meter-wide orogenic shear-vein system extending to 400 meters depth and traced along 600 meters of strike — again, within a broader 2.5-kilometer surface corridor.
Add it all up, and Relevant presents higher risk, but greater potential, than just about any junior I’ve seen. The realistic potential is to control most of a gold district analogous to the Abitibi. It’s still early days, but the results so far are validating the theory by uncovering precisely the kind of geology and gold grades that were predicted.
