About Jeff
Jeff Gordon, president of Texas Coastal Energy Company (TCEC), is one the few oil executives who hasn't been deep in the oil patch since birth. Previously, he was senior vice president for Hoyos Group, a world wide technology, banking, and identity consulting company, which recently sold off their product line to Stanley Black and Decker (NYSE: SWK). Prior to this, Mr. Gordon worked for almost a decade in the bank and finance industry in all aspects of consulting, technology, and finance working with banks worldwide ranging from HSBC, Citi, Wells Fargo, Barclays, and many others. It was at this time he was introduced to the oil industry while working on consulting projects with BP and Chevron's energy trading and risk departments. Bringing a strong focus on finance, statistics, negotiation, process management, operational efficiency, and finance, Mr. Gordon has excelled to date at TCEC leading them to near profitability in less than a year, with projections to be profitable within the next two quarters. His finance background has given him an outsider's view of the industry, allowing him to bring a financial mind to a traditionally "old-school" industry and spot opportunities others have traditionally overlooked such as TCEC's acquisition of highly valuable leases in Kansas. Mr. Gordon's technology and consulting experiences have allowed TCEC to position itself with state-of-the-art technology for its oil exploration and production, which was traditionally used by the large, integrated oil companies. This will increase the probability for success of TCEC's ventures, and increase production and revenue from each individual project. He attended Texas A&M University Honors Business School and majored in finance.
