About Phil

Phil Herbert is the CEO and trader for NDX Capital Management. He began his investment career at the age of 18, using money from his summer job as a garbage collector. Mr. Herbert boasted strong returns during the bull market of 1983-1986 and joined Paine Webber as a stock broker after college, around the crash of 1987. After five years at Paine Webber, he worked as a retail broker for Prudential Bache Securities. In 1993, Mr. Herbert opened the Minneapolis branch of All-Tech Investments, a brokerage firm specializing in daytrading. During early 2000s, he began trading hog futures using calendar spreads, and he and his business partner, Alan Zenk, started a commodity pool called Golden Harvest Partners, which was their first foray into the hog management business. Subsequently, they launched the Shadrach and Abednego programs at NDX Capital Management and the programs mainly consist of hog calendar spreads and use both technical and fundamental analysis. Both programs enjoy strong returns.
