Kevin Keller

Kevin R. Keller, CAE is Chief Executive Officer of CFP Board, the professional body for personal financial planners in the United States. CFP Board sets standards for financial planning and administers the prestigious CFPcertification - one of the most respected certifications in financial services and one of the few accredited financial services designations. Mr. Keller is responsible for leading the organization to benefit the public by granting CFPcertification and upholding it as the standard of excellence for competent and ethical personal financial planning. The number of CFPprofessionals in the U.S. stands at more than 88,000 - reflecting an increase of more than 60% since Mr. Keller joined CFP Board in 2007. Under Kevin's leadership, CFP Board overhauled the CFPcertification standards with a strengthened Code of Ethics and Standards of Conduct that requires CFPprofessionals to act in the best interest of the client at all times when providing financial advice. CFP Board also launched the Center for Financial Planning, which is working to creating a more diverse and sustainable financial planning profession, so that every American has access to competent, ethical financial planning advice.Prior to joining CFP Board, Mr. Keller served 16 years with the Association for Financial Professionals (AFP) and held senior positions with several associations. He earned the Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential in 2000 and holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from The Ohio State University.
