Deon Vernooy

Deon Vernooy is Chief Investment Strategist for Canadian Edge. He has been an investment strategist or senior investment manager for the past 27 years, including at HSBC (the worlds second-largest bank) as the strategist for South Africa, where hes from originally. He also worked for eight years as the senior executive officer at Emirates NBD Asset management, which he started in Dubai on behalf of a major regional bank.He has degrees in law and economics and is a certified financial analyst (CFA). In addition to managing money, he lectures on the CFA curriculum to students at the University of British Columbia and Morgan International, and is a former writer for the Motley Fool.
