John Van Clief

John Van Clief has a 33-year history as an investment banker, money manager, research analyst, and venture capitalist. He has spent time at Lehman Brothers, Bear Stearns, and ran banking for a division of Loeb Partners. Mr. Van Clief spent time in Silicon Valley, where he was an early pre-IPO investor in Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. Based on his experience, he runs a late stage Silicon Valley VC fund named New Opportunity Fund I, and since his family has been in the defense industry for over 55 years, he runs a defense-sector hedge Nemean Lion Defense Fund I.
