About Brian

Brian Whitmer is the European analyst for Elliott Wave International and editor of the monthly publication, The Elliott Wave European Financial Forecast. He also contributes to the European stock section of our monthly Global Market Perspective. Mr. Whitmer has a "big picture" perspective and strong views about where the Euro and EU is headed. While the conventional model of economic and social forecasting fell short when trying to anticipate the EU's future, he has been a step ahead of today's European debt crisis-a crisis he says is far from over and will ultimately result in the breakup of the European Union. Mr. Whitmer received a degree in civil engineering from the University of Maryland and after receiving his MBA from Georgia Southern University, he joined Elliott Wave International in 2009. He has spoken at international conferences in Paris, Rome, and Zurich, and his analysis and forecasts are quoted regularly in European media outlets including Financial Times, Investors Chronicle, Yahoo! Finance, and Fortune.
