Michael Barna is the founder and president of Trading System Lab (TSL). He has been programming and writing trading strategy code for decades, and through TSL, provides an advanced "machine learning platform" for the production of systematic trading algorithms. TSL's clients include hedge funds, proprietary trading firms, investment banks, and individual traders worldwide. Prior to forming TSL, Mr. Barna created numerous popular and successful trading systems. His 2001 Legacy Trading System "Big Blue 2" is ranked one of the "Top Ten Trading Systems of All Time" as published in The Ultimate Trading Guide, by Hill, Pruitt and Hill and is currently ranked #4. Mr. Barna is the creator and author of the RMESA Trading System, which is his first trading system to include a basic neural network approximation filter. He was previously a hedge fund managing VP at Regency Stocks and Commodities Fund responsible for all systematic trading operations and a former rocket, ramjet, and laser guidance engineer for several large aerospace defense firms. Mr. Barna received a BS in mathematics from Arizona State University, a MS in astronautical and aeronautical engineering from Stanford, and holds Series 3 and Series 30 licenses, an NFA CTA, and 12 FAA pilot licenses or ratings.
