John Slazas

John Slazas is the founder and CEO of JS Services Research and Trading, LLC, which was formed in 1984 as a full-service technical research company, which provides trading strategies for exchange members and institutional trading houses. He created two primary proprietary technologies; The Price Map, a behavioral study that pinpoints the key inflection points of expected market sentiment shifts and MarketColor, a mathematical model developed to objectively show a market's technical state and directional probability. Mr. Slazas began his career as a runner on the floor at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange in the early 1980s. He mentored under independent local traders, acquiring knowledge-based skills for a full spectrum of trading styles in the futures and options markets, ranging from directional day and position trading, sector and calendar spreading, option volatility trading, and arbitrage. In 1989, Mr. Slazas created Stellaris Futures LP, a full Class A clearing member of the CME, as a niche give-up execution specialist firm. In 1992, he left the clearing and execution side of the business to focus on his passion of developing trading strategies and what is today the JS Services Strategy Based Trading approach. Mr. Slazas is a former member of the CME. He participated in the GLOBEX Screen Design committee as well as the Trading and Markets committee of the MFA. His experience includes futures and options trading, clearing and execution, and strategy development for both discretionary and algorithmic trading.
