The essence of life is information, chemicals are the substrate. Without the information contained in our DNA, we'd be a few dollars' worth of chemicals lying on the ground. With this information, our bodies turn food into a human being. In the past few years, science and medicine have reached the point where we can treat life-threatening diseases by modifying the information in patients' DNA. These advances will forever change the way we look at medicine, redefining what we think is possible. In the near future we will see treatments that treat aging itself as a disease, vastly improving both the healthspan and lifespan of mankind.
