About Nate

While earning a degree in Mathematics from U.C. Berkeley in the early 1990s, Nate Pile also started his investment career following biotech stocks while working for legendary biotech investor and analyst Jim McCamant. He launched his own newsletter, Nate's Notes, 1995 with an eye towards helping individual investors grow their wealth through a common sense, long-term approach to investing, and in the 23 years since, the newsletter has quietly become one of the top-performing newsletters in the industry.

Nate's Articles

I am once again making MannKind (MNKD) my Top Pick for the coming year. The company's lead product is Afrezza, an inhalable form of insulin for both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetics, writes Nate Pile, editor of Nate’s Notes.
Charles Schwab's (SCHW) stock got crushed last March as part of the across-the-board selloff we saw in regional bank stocks. While the stock has managed to rally nicely off the lows set during that turbulent time period, I believe it is still being undervalued by the market, opines Nate Pile, editor of Nate’s Notes.
September was another rough month for stocks overall and an especially brutal month for regional banking and utility stocks. But once the fever breaks, interest rates will finally level off and perhaps even tick down a bit, and stocks will also start to find their footing again. I like Runway Growth Finance Corp. (RWAY) here, writes Nate Pile, editor of The Little River Investment Guide.
The recent rapid, steep, and fully unanticipated (at least by me) decline in regional banking stocks has been one of the primary culprits behind lackluster performance lately. But whenever one’s “investment boat gets rocked by a big wave,” so to speak, the most important thing to do is to remain disciplined and stick to the game plan while waiting for the choppy waters to level off a bit. I like Fifth Third Bancorp (FITB) here, says Nate Pile, editor of The Little River Investment Guide.
