Matt Choi is a professional trader with over 25 years of experience in financial markets. His journey began at age 11 in Hong Kong, where he learned investment principles from his grandfather, a successful stockbroker. This early foundation led Matt to begin trading during the late 1990s dot-com boom, evolving from stocks to options and futures. The 2001 market crash was a turning point that deepened his understanding of risk and shaped his disciplined approach to trading.

Mentored by the renowned George Fontanills, Mr. Choi developed a consistent, strategy-driven style focused on risk management and repeatable patterns. In 2011, he earned the Chartered Market Technician (CMT) designation, solidifying his expertise in technical analysis.

In 2015, Matt founded Certus Trading Inc., where he has since taught over 80,000 traders practical, actionable strategies—emphasizing steady gains over risky bets. His programs range from beginner options to advanced spread strategies, tailored to deliver consistent results.

Mr. Choi holds degrees in Psychology and Life Sciences from Queen's University and an MBA from McMaster University. Outside of trading, he manages his family office, engages in entrepreneurial ventures, and is a black belt in Taekwondo. He lives in Toronto with his wife, child, and Golden Retriever, and frequently travels to Asia for business and speaking engagements.
